They will breed more of themselves, yes! Scaleless is a recessive gene so to any bird they would at least make splits, but luckily the turkens hatching are already het scaleless. I am hoping to get at least one scaleless more out of the last two eggs, but count myself lucky to have one!
I write an egg number on mine. The egg number goes in a notebook with hen and rooster, egg weight, egg shell hue, date laid, date set. The eggs then go into mesh pedigree bags. They get leg banded when they come out of the bags.
I'm done hatching... I candled my last lavender ameracauna egg and no movement so I poked a small hole to see and found a late quitter.![]()
