Bantam Marans
Olive Egger
None of my shipped eggs have done anything yet.

I guessed one of 3 right the bantam marans.

I often have early hatch so was starting to wonder, I candled and had no movement. I left them a ccouple hours and candled again, still no movement, I carefully picked a hole into the air cell so if they were still living I would not hurt them, but none were moving. I wet a qtip with warm water and touched them through the membrane so if they were just resting they would move and nothing. One I could see was not fully developed so must have died a couple days ago. one was upside down , and the other everything looked good, but no movement.

I lost him. The moment I decided to go through with it, he suffocated. What my luck. If I would have made the decision 5 minutes sooner, he might still be alive.

I thought my last Ameraucana x was pipped, but it isn't - just a piece of shell stuck to it. And I have 4 eggs that are doing nothing at all. I'll leave them a few days and see what happens, but I will have to take my peeps out soon to put in the temporary brooder and I hope it won't be too detrimental to the remaining eggs. Pretty sure they were all developed when I put them in lockdown, but it was hard to tell since they are Marans.

candled the remaining eggs and tossed the duds. I've tossed a total of 16 infertile and quitters. no clue on the bcm's tho ones zipping and another 2 have pips

The out and the zip are Silver Penciled Rocks
The one pip...is a white something...can't recall. Need to ask Shannon at Diefly...I think she said they were Silver Campines?
I'm just elated that I have a live chick!

I went to the ER and am a million pages behind. Hope I didn't miss anything exciting. The ER was horrible...packed full of sick people (mostly flu) took hours, i had to take my 2 and 4 year old for a doc to stand 3 feet away as he looked at my throat, didn't even bother to feel my lymphnodes, nurse did a strep swab which was negative and they sent me home with lidocaine. It doesn't remotely help the pain because the pain isn't superficial its my lymphnodes. So irritated. Soooo I think more chicks would cheer me up!

Awesome. Was contemplating getting some SP Rocks, congrats on your babies.

here are my surprise babies. they were 2 days early. They are bbs silkies from a blue rooster over a blue hen, I think that I have black, blue and splash.
