A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Ditto. I have no mercy on predators of ANY TYPE. that includes the two legged type. I have my own Law at
The Land of Nash. It supercedes all laws EXCEPT those in the Bible. :)
Ex 21:28

Memphis, How'd you fare last night? Glad I decided not to move the Turkeys to pasture yesterday... Their new house is on end and in the fence. Going out in a bit to figure out how to right it... and repair it. ARG! :he

Well, we lost power last night for about four hours, the battery backup for the bator lasted about two. When the power finally did come on, the temp was 83... What are the chances my poults will survive?

It depends on how far along they were in incubation. It is surprising just how much abuse or bad conditions that they can survive especially if it is late in the cycle.

I'm up in Missouri....but apparently it got REALLY bad in Memphis. My neighbor called. We are among the 150,000 without power. Estimates over a week to get all the power back up. Over 100 trees down in the roads. My house & girls are fine. Glad I'm in Ste. Genevieve. Hope they get our power up in before I need to go home!

Good luck on the bad weather..

I have told the WWD to make a note for me for next year...

Do not spread seed when the turkeys are free ranging.

I did most my seeding with the tractor and a seeder. I had a small piece of about 1/2 acre I did with a hand seeder..

Every step I took there were turkeys behind me picking the seed off the ground as fast as it hit the ground.... I am thinking the "crop" could be a little light there...

Well, Ralphie. You might get your wish. Sabrina almost killed her baby today. The duckling got its head caught in chickenwire. It was dangling, and she kept walking away (from me. She was actually raised by a duck pair after 8-weeks, and I didn't interfere. So she doesn't want me too near her). I got him out, but if it happens again...
