R2 and Ralph, You'll love this... Either my Hamburg or my Dels, someone has a recessive brown gene. Suspect the hamburg. My hamburg/Del crosses have brown coloring in their feathers, which kind of looks cool but at the same time surprising as neither bird has brown in it.

It looks like one of those Semi-Color Semi-Gray varieties that there aren't any reference photos of the known types such as Semi-Color Semi-Gray Narragansett but I don't think this is the Narragansett version. This kind is caused by the effects of the black winged bronze (b1) gene, the Gray (cg) gene and the Narragansett gene (n). It would help to know what the hen was. My guess is that its color genes are (?b1 Ccg Nn). If the ? is a (b), it would be a Bronze Semi-Color Semi-Gray. If the ? was a (B) it would be a Tri-Color Mottled Black which it is not. If the ? was a (b1), it would be a Cornish Palm which it is not so most likely it is (bb1 Ccg Nn) along with any other recessive color genes that the hen added.

Other possibilities are Bronze Gray and Bronze Semi-Gray.

Fred is 12 weeks I believe. The hens they said they had were blue slate, red slate, bronze, palms. But I ended up with two that are meat turkeys I think too. Pure white and huge. So who knows.

This is dinner Fred. Trying not to get attached to him because I'm guessing I can't keep him as a pet.

Based on those choices it is my belief that the mother is a Bronze and that he is a Bronze Semi-Color Semi-Gray.

You might want to check with Kevin Porter of Porter's Rare Heritage Turkeys since they are not showing a reference photo of that variety.
