A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

Penciled Fall Fire! Way cool!! They are just gorgeous.

65 here today. Spent most of it in the yard. Wore out my two turkey helpers. Went around front to clean out the beds. After a few hours they had retired to the front porch for a nap. Swung around to the back. They lasted another hour or so, found them asleep in my deck chairs. Daisy wanted me to bring her a glass of sweet tea.
Went into the house....they roosted on the backporch rail earlier than usual. Annie was sound asleep with her head hanging down. Couple of tuckered turkeys!!

Picture this....out front grazing the birds. Neighbor pulls up (hes stopped before) driving a huge over done pick up truck. Wearing a ball cap & tee shirt. Big guy with a beard. Started talking about how beautiful Daisy was. Of course Daisy sauntered over. I picked her up so he could give her a pat. And this big old redneck starts baby talking to her. "Are you the prettiest turkey in the world?", etc. In a high pitched voice like you would talk to a little kid. I almost died!! It was too funny! Big macho guy baby talking a turkey...

Got home to both girls roosting on my backporch rail. It was certainly still light enough for them to walk to the coop. But no...had to pluck each one off the rail & lug them to the coop. I plucked Annie first, thinking Daisy would just follow. No, she waited for me to carry her. Starting to wonder if they are playing me.
