A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

feistychick,
Eddie is good! I'll try it out.
Feedman, I was going to hold out hope for a girl, but he gobbles.
Duluthralphie, I couldn't do anything like that. Guest of honor for me means no having to do the dishes!

When a turkey is the guest of honor he never has to do dishes or clean the table. his duties are simply lie there, look good and taste better.

if he gobbles pretty sure bet its a tom. My error. Have fun with him.

I have a few novice questions. Do tukeys molt like chickens? Also...I have the two laying hens and have been feeding them the chickens layer feed. Plus greens, BOSS, tomatoes...etc. what do you recommend I feed them? Or is the layer feed ok?

All birds molt, some molt annually and some molt twice a year. My turkeys normally molt in the fall. Layer feed plus free choice oyster shell is fine for adult turkey hens.

you are welcome!
Annie and Eddie! Two turkeys getting over their gender identity crisis :)

Two down, one to go :P Hopefully mine will develop something that makes it definitely hen or tom soon. I'm getting tired of calling it "Turkey" lol. Although it comes when I call it, so a new name might not be the best idea.....
