A century of Turkey talk 2000-2100.

They are like tomato candy! R2elk starts his early in a greenhouse & harvests well before I even get mine in the ground.

Oh my! This year i tried some jelly beans. They were supposed be all different colors but they weren’t so much. A few small shades of red and orange was all. But they were like crack and lays tater chips. Lol! I am still pickin em.

I wanted to drop in and give everyone an update on Angelica. I treated her with Corid for a week without results. Then I started taking notice to how nasty her poop smelling and she started to get wobbly on her feet. I'm fairly certain that she's dealing with botulism, just like Pirate earlier this year :/ I started with Epsom salt flushes yesterday. She's very skinny but she seems to be eating better. I'm hopeful that we can conquer it this time around since I know about the system flush this time. I'll keep everyone updated

I'm assuming it's in the ground/mud in the run. With all the constant rain, their run has been nothing but nasty mud all summer and I can't stop them from drinking it when the water pools up. I'm on a list for a wood chip drop. I'm hoping I can get some soon so I can fill their run with it.

Sure hopes she recovers Aurora.

Got a chance to see Airforce 1 land today in MEM. Happened to be out on the ramp. Third time I've seen it. Its always impressive. Would love to see the inside.

Annie still being a grump. Daisy starting to look great. She has a little patch of very dark grey feathers, the size of a thumbprint, right on top of her head. Looks like shes wearing a little beret. Glad to see its growing in really dark this year. I think it's cute.

He’s finally gotten all his feathers and the hens are working on growing theirs back in. He’s such a dark mahogany color and thankfully good to his hens and human friendly. I’ll probably need hen saddles next season since he grew his spurs.

Random question: how high of a fence do you think would keep bourbon reds in? 8ft? 10ft?
I put up a 2"x4"x6' welded wire perimeter fence. There are infrequent times when a turkey or two will sail right over the fence but they would do that with an 8' or 10' fence also. The key is that there is no top bar or rail. If there is a top bar or rail on the fence, the turkeys will choose that as a perch and will almost always get down on the wrong side of the fence.
