I have a bunch of poults I want to put out in a tractor and then when they (and their chicken “sibs”) get used to it, let them out into ShockorNot netting for chicks. So... just wondering what to expect and whether it will work at all. I don’t mind popping them back in. At present I can do it with one hand... prolly not gonna last.
I have the shock or not. ... at to 2-3 wks old I had one get their head stuck in the 3/4" chick net on the bottom. sometimes at that age they find a spot they can go under it if you have rough ground. Where 2 sections join together I overlap the poles so they can't squiggle through a gap. The Blue Slate hen was trying not to tell me that she had another poult hatch. She did not start talking until I started to check under her. She hatched another Sweetgrass poult for a total of 6 out of 7 eggs. The last egg was rotten when I candled it later.
With just two, most likely. They's still have their snood pulling contests. I had six boys living in the bachelor pad and they did fine until I tried to introduce a couple new boys. That didn't go well at all.
