Anybody have Beltsville whites?

The Beltsville Small White is possibly the most critically endangered Standardbred turkey in existence today. While it's not currently in our conservation program we still see great utility and potential for the bird alongside its biodiversity benefits. Chief amongst these is its smaller size which makes it a great fit for feeding small families and for those that don't have the oven and fridge space that the bigger birds require.

As such, we recently took in eggs from a flock of Beltsville Small White turkeys that resides at the Southeast Poultry Research Laboratory. The flock is set to be eliminated from the facility and The Livestock Conservancy has been working to find homes for the birds and to spread the genetics from it. We're very happy to be able to assist in this effort and are excited to use these birds to expand our own flock of Beltsville Small White turkeys.

I have 12 Bourbon Reds. I got them on April 8th. They are like flying puppies now. They arrived at the post office and were the size of chicken peeps. Now they are knee high and I will be trying to clip wings soon so they can be outside in their pen during the day. I think 4 or 5 are hens. I will also be trying to separate the jakes from the hens maybe next month. How many males should I ultimately keep?
