A Question Out of Genuine Political Curiousity

Lets consider we just gave 375 million to begin to rebuild the Iraqi air force (or create), now lets consider that up until two weeks ago Georgia had 2,000 troops in the IRaq/afghan area. Anyone know how many England has in Iraq- 5,000 and they're looking to draw down quickly and withdraw them all in the next 9 months AND we needed to send the Marines into Southern Afghanistan to do the job they could not do. Superpower England- 5,000, struggling, fledgling Georgia 2,000 troops- maybe we should have done more than say shame on you and we're dissapointed in you when Russia moved into Georgia. Time to do some landscaping and clear all the Bushes out of washington and plant something with deeper roots and a solid foundationin my opinion. Don't quite know if Mr. Obama or Mr. McCain is the man for the job, but one of them is gonna be whether he's up for the task or not. The last president was not, again in my opinion. Keystonepaul

*I kinda thought so-- big time "counting your chickens before they hatch"!! Just made me sorta shocked to learn that promises of such bail-outs to stricken countries/allies are just considered part of the game, I guess, and is not beyond the pale.

A little OT (I can't resist) but I'm just disappointed that I don't get to vote for Monica Lewinsky's ex-boyfdriends wife for president. Booooo. But hey, my vote doesn't count anyway. I'm in Florida!

I'm running away from this as of.........NOW!

I'm pretty sure it was Joe Biden who called for a billion dollars to be spent to help Georgia rebuild. He's a Senator, elected to plan where to spend our money for us...as is Senator Obama.

Presidential politics get a lot of press, but a lot more goes on in the senate, and it would be great if people spent as much energy thinking about their representatives there as they did about who is running for president.

I'm from Massachusetts and very proud of Kennedy and Kerry (and now I'm ducking and running! LOL!!)

* Thanks, 12acres-- I had sort of forgotten about the "eminent domain" the govenment of China had perpetrated to build the Bird's Nest and all, amid the glitz and glory. And thanks, keystonepaul, too! I knew Georgia was an allie, didn't know they had troops in Irag as well.
