Government cannot give anything to anyone unless it first takes it away from someone else. Now guess who that unlucky someone will be.
Be it free health care, money to rebuild Iraq or Georgia you will have to pay for it. Now is the time to say "NO!."
People need to be responsible for their own health care; Iraq needs to pay for it's own rebuilding, they have enough oil wealth to do it.
And as for Georgia, we did not break it, so why should we pay for it.
Our country is on the edge of national bankruptcy. The extent of our national debt is staggering. Also, the amount of personal debt is overwhelming.
In the past, government would adopt the "soak the rich" tax programs, but unfortunately, the rich all live in the middle east or China now. They are beyond our taxing authority.
Just say "NO!" to government give aways and special interest projects.
I seriously think we should get a "None of the Above" button. If that gets the most votes we start all over, EXCEPT both parties only get three months to campaign. Then we do it again and again until we get somebody decent and normal proposed.
Personally I think we need three parties. The current two seem to be drifting further and further away from what the majority of us want.
just my 2 cents...
* Thanks for that, Rooster-red; first decent chuckle I've had since the campaigning started! As to Clinton, "sexy WITH brains". Don't think so. MAYBE IF he'd taken his jollies down to the Motel 6, I could deal. . . As it is, the mental stain on my brain is worse than the one on Miss Lewinsky's dress. THEN, he REALLY annoyed me, when he had a busload of D.C. inner city kids trucked in as window-dressing for the signing of the Welfare Bill-- and gave every single one of the freakin' signing pens to his Congressional cronies who already have a drawerfull!!! Give 'em to the *KIDS* you are exploiting, Bozo!!!! JEEZ!! It's the "little things" like those that rankle me with politicians. (Ed:tired--missing words!)
The posts by rufus, rooster-red and CityGirlintheCountry (You have no idea how hard that is for me to type w/o spacing!) read as if they cold have been posted by me.
The only problem I see with none of the above at the time of voting is that it would delay getting the current one out.
