regarding the health insurance issue, i don't have health insurance and haven't ever needed it once in my life, BUT if i could afford it, i would pay for it and i wouldn't use it. i have many many friends who would do the same. in essence we would be paying into the system and not pulling out if it. with proper management and reform of medical billing, i'm sure that healthcare could be done with little or no tax increases.

but this will never happen of course

a smooth running government (whether it be large (liberal) or small (conservative)) is important, large budget deficits don't help and budget deficits come from overspending or undertaxing - do the math and figure out how to fix our budget.
