Out of my four BW roosters the one with the best color has a wry tail! They are four months old. Then I picked another one to keep and he developed a spikey comb!

One of the others had a curled toe and the one that has no body faults has very yellow hackle feathers! Sheesh!

Lots of whites have flecks of black in their feathers or one black feather.

I got some w and bw chicks from a friend who purchased an order from one of the other breeders that has been mentioned on here alot lately and one of them had stubs on it's legs. I got rid of them all.......

So, look at your birds legs everyone!!!!

Question for the Ameraucana people!

I hatched 3 chicks from eggs I had shipped to me, 1 blue, one light blue or splash, and 1 definite splash. The definite splash is the only one with muffs! Do they grow the muffs later in some individuals? I have always noticed the puffy cheeks right away in the purebreds but I am pretty inexperienced. Are these possibly bad quality Ameraucanas or will the muffs come with time?

Sometimes they go through a "fugly" stage where they look like they don't have a beard and muff. But if they had them as chicks, they should have them as adults.

Stubs are feathers on the legs.
