ANXIETY OVERLOAD!! 😳

This was me last week! My broody was sitting on 6 eggs and I spent more time than I’d like to admit watching her on the nest. I even ran out there in the middle of the night to check on her! Luckily my day was pretty busy, so I had other stuff to focus on, but I did get to see one chick hatch.

Awesome! How many of the 6 hatched? Mines on 8.

Trust me: The best you can do is not to go there at all, as each time you go near or into the coop you disturb the hatching process. Just take a nice long walk with the dog and leave her alone.

How do you know when there’s babies under her if she’s sitting on them?

I love a broody hen hatching babies. 3 of mine went broody this year. 5 of my mothers hens went broody too. So we hatched like 50 chicks this year between to 2 of us!

Yes, this year a lot of my hens went broody too, but I only allowed my three oldest and very experienced hens to do the job.
