I've spent far too much time in Wells, Burgess, and Orwell. I'm a starry veck in a young malchick's body.
 
Weeeeeeejckdeeeeeeellllllll, looks like my sourdough starter got killed by the cold. Guess I'll have to start a new one. Again.
It should be fine. Keep feeding and discarding twice a day and add a teaspoon of organic apple cider vinegar one time. Then the next time add a tablespoon of potato starch.

Starter will go dormant but not die.
 
Good sassafras is quite hard to find.
Sassafras trees grow invasively here. I have to keep string trimming the sprouts down to ground level. They still spread by roots and seeds.

Root bark. I miss sassafras tea.
