How about "Sausage-Cheese Balls" - it was a family tradition for Christmas that me and DH have carried on.I'm talking basic biscuit, with a little patty of breakfast sausage and maybe some american, or cheddar cheese.

Basically a biscuit mix with raw sausage and shredded cheese, mixed up and baked. They are quite good. The recipes started with Bisquick, I have tried without the mix but have never done as well as their recipe.
You can cut the raisins! Can I use whole wheat flour for the ANZACS cookies? I have some that I ground that needs to be used up before it goes rancid.
AND how important are the raisins? I hate anything with raisins cooked in; plain ole dried, wrinkly raisins are wonderful - just don't cook with them!

I think whole wheat flour would be fine. These cookies last a long time. The Story is that they were intended for shipping to WW II soldiers by boat. They actually taste better after a week or so.
I would add more dried apricots because they are very tasty!
