Anybody else watching this ebay auction?

$520. Reserve not met. "We're not in this to make a quick buck."

What is somewhat confusing to me is that on their website, they have hatching eggs for sale for $100 each. I wonder why the Ebay auction is for 6 eggs and reserve is not met at over $615.00? Maybe because the eggs are not available until mid April on the website? I would just wait a couple weeks.....well, actually, I wouldn't buy them at all because I am way too cheap and I would feel I had to keep it penned up all the time - poor chicken would have a stunted social life.
Chicks are $150 each! I wonder how long this color will retain its value.

Wow, that's about all I can say is WOW! The crele orpingtons they have listed are beautiful!!! I've NEVER heard of a crele orp.

These sellers must work for the government. Maybe I should just stay out of it except to mention they are selling eggs, not chicks. With all the people having bad luck with shipped eggs, do you really wanna take a chance on less than half of those 6 hatching? Might be cheaper and more certain to fly there and hold those eggs on your lap going home.........Pop

I just have to throw my two cents in...

This is INSANITY!!! These chickens are genetically modified for a certain color...either through careful breeding or a mutation. It is a color, people! Not egg laying ability, temperament, or hardiness.

...and since chickens mature at < 6 mo, their number will exponentially grow throughout the US, soon. Of course the price then drops like a rock.

Whoever is buying these eggs may as well go to Vegas, the odds of a return on investment are slim.
