Me too! I find it fascinating to compare the way the Arabs looked back in the 70's with how they look today. I also forgot that I also have a horse book from 1969.

Do the cattle look any different back then?

I like collecting antique/vintage tea sets. My favorites are tagged "made in occupied Japan". I came across one labeled as such at a flea market, it was a complete set, no nicks or cracks, I bought it for $10. It could be worth about $125, or so the antique books told me. Needless to say I was very proud of myself when I found that out and ever since I'm always on the hunt for the stuff!

Old crocks and bowls! I can't get enough of them!!! I have lots but always have my eye out for more.
I also love the old orange enamelware. I have several pieces but always wonder what other pieces
were made. It is really hard to find, at least in my area.
I have a primitive "antique" retail shop in a little town that is nothing but antique and gift shops.
If anyone ever wants a grea weekend of antiqueing than my town is the place for you to come!!
I think we have about 60 shops, all in walking distance of each other.

Me too! I have one that was my Grandmas. I may be interested in helping you part with some too, after gryeyes of course. I have also just started looking for deviled egg trays and egg cups.

I collect antique weapons and books.
Right now, I only have one antique knife, but I have a lot of antique books! (Probably because the books are less expensive.

)

I haven't been able to find the publisher for this book. I think it was published in the late 1800's, judging from a date written in the book (it was a gift to someone) and the make of it. It's not worth much, I think, but it's a nice little book, and it's very well made both structurally and artistically.

Here is the knife. It's an early 20 century Shona African dagger. I found a company called Oriental Arms that sells antique weapons (although I did not purchase this from them) and provides free identification for antiques like this. I found this at a yard sale for thirty dollars.

I have only a few antiques, but the ones I have get used all the time. I have a cast iron vise that I found at an old barn. This man was selling off all of his family's tools. I don't know how old it is. I also have two antique copper teapot that I use everyday, one for heating water, and the other for watering plants. My husband has his great-grandma's double barrel shotgun which has the coolest story behind it. In fair condition, it is worth about 12k. This shotgun was stolen, wrapped in a burlap sack and put in a hollow log in KY where it stayed for the 2 years the guy spent in jail. When he got out, he took her to retrieve the gun. The barrel was pitted and rusted on the outside. The bore was unbelievably fine. Hubby takes it squirrel hunting occasionally. I prowl antique malls all the time, but have never been blessed to be in one when I also had money to spend.
