I just had a migraine last Saturday and have had a headache since. I, too, feel your pain. Kids to tend to and a head you'd like to just take off and set somewhere until it doesn't hurt anymore.
Like SpottedCrow, since a car accident in '84 (I was 5 months pregnant with son #1) and my head hit the windshield (I remember seeing my hair hanging from the star, but the ER nurse still argued with me about that!), I've had headaches. Thankfully, I've only had one that drove me to seek emergent care. Until my hysterectomy 5 years ago, I had a headache 3 weeks of the month, not necessarily related to my cycles.
Now, I get stress headaches. I've taken so many meds over the years that it's almost hit and miss for treatment. Excedrine Migraine or Tension Headache is good. I will also alter ibuprofen, then acetaminophen 2 hours later, followed by ibuprofen again 2 hours after that. This method does help immensely to keep the pain controllable. But, you really gotta watch this because you will be 'hung-over' the next day, and just feel 'disconnected'.
At one time, Excedrine (I think) put out Migraine Ice patches. I'm not sure what the content was, but they were similar to band-aids. I was convinced God had sent a miracle down just for me. Ice is the wonder-healer for headaches. Anything cold, whether it be ice or a cold can/bottle of coke, applied to the area of pain.
The (headache) pain is caused by a constriction of the blood vessels (or so I was told once). The ice will slow the blood flow to those vessels therefore, decreasing the pressure, resulting in pain relief.
And so.........after all this, do some experimenting with different methods we've all mentioned and please share with us what works for you.
Edited to add that I really hope you feel better soon! and for spelling...
