Anyone have experience with Privett?

They're jist as good as any hatchery. Will they be amazing? Probably not. Will they be an okay bird for a hatchery? Much more likely

Reading that had me FUMING, there is so much wrong in that single paragraph, and I feel like anyone who had any knowledge of EEs, Ameraucanas, and Araucanas, would not have typed that.

But it has been a few days and I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt that they just hired someone with no knowledge to write it.

So, Privett experiences....?

I have had Dominiques, and they were pretty good, large egg layers, active but not too flighty, nice birds,overall. Never heard of Privetts Hatchery. The page shown causes reason to question their professionalism. I have used Murray McMurray, Cackle and Meyers, since our local hatcheries closed about 30 years ago. I also have bought from local breeders. I like buying started chicks locally. If they have bright eyes and good color, are active and been vaccinated for Mareks and Coccidiosis for you, than you have skipped a lot of the risk of getting new chicks, by being able to see them at the time of purchase!

I feel the same about Ideal, there are several breeds listed that the pics are wrong or description

I'd rather go with Meyer's Hatchery. They're more honest, & knowledgeable then other hatcheries, have better birds.

Hmm not sure, I thought it was some other one that claimed to preserve heritage breeds, "Sandstorm Hatchery" or something.

You need a Speckled Sussex.

Have you considered Cackle Hatchery’s straight run black Ameraucanas and Blue Egg Layer assortment?

The person I got my green fertile eggs from to start my flock of EEs, she had mostly birds from Cackle. So I’m pretty happy with the vigor of birds descended from Cackle stock.
