Anyone painted their hardware cloth black?

If anyone is interested, Carolina Coops sells black hardware cloth, 1/2 inch. It can be expensive but worth it. I didn't get it but wish I would have. Their coops are so nice. Just go to their website and contact them about buying it if you are interested.

Painted mine after it went up and the change is incredible. I still have a section i haven't done (winter here and the weather isn't warm enough often enough to paint) and the difference is night and day.

Im not sure of the long term robustness, so if anyone did it a couple of years ago i would be interested if its something that has to be re-done often or not

Is that the stuff you paint on mobile home roofs?

Elastomeric is what you use to paint rolled roofing or modified bitumen, if that's what you mean.

I had black hardware cloth, then painted it white. Painting it white made it very difficult to see through. I installed some coated dark green and uncoated galvanized, and it is much better than the white. Black is the easiest to see through.

I also want to know.

I would like to know how this holds up. Can anyone who has painted theirs give advice?

In my experience, painted galvanized horse fencing does NOT hold up and chips off.

I love the look of the black wire, but not if it chips off and looks bad a couple years later.
