Anyone want to lose some weight too? So I'm not starvin' by myself?

I'm in for 60. That would put me at my wedding weight 10 years ago.

Stage II (2011) will be another 40. That would put me at my 1st wedding weight 20 years ago

I am working on no bed time snacks or only fruit/pretzels kinds of things.
Will be heading to our local community center to see if I can afford a membership so I can use their indoor track.

I also plan to buy a scale, something we havent owned in 15 years so I can monitor my progress. I'm a visual person. I need to see it.

Good luck everyone!!

My main dieting problem is my brain... it tells me "You've got it SO hard, single parenting 3 kids, shoveling out your car in the morning? Listening to your mother tell you how you need to lose weight, and how you should get rid of your animals, and how that color does NOT look good on you...", and then I 'deserve' to eat something I like... well NO MORE! No more feeling sorry for myself and comforting me with food. I start to feel sorry for myself, then I will comfort myself with sit ups... might train me to STOP feeling sorry for myself!

Ok I am weighing in I way 315 pounds. I am 38 years old. I have started the changing the eating habits today. will start to put more movement into my routine on Monday. I am starting slowly. I will make sure to make time for myself and not give all to the animals, husband and 6 kids. I can't wait to get to a normal size!!! Oh I only want to weigh in every other week. I know if one week is bad that the next might not be good. Good luck to all!!!

I've lost 16lbs over the last 2mos but need to lose at least that much more. I start nursing school in 2wks and the white pants scare me! I'm also turning 40 in Aug and I don't want to be 'Fat and Forty'
I've been doing 1500cals in 6 meals a day from this plan I found on the web. I'm very rarely hungry but have fallen off the wagon the past two weeks. McD's Sweet Tea is my vice and I slipped and had some last week. Since then, my sweet tooth is outta' control. But I'm determined to get back on track starting Mon. It's super cold here so I know I'll just be cooped up in the house all weekend which is BAD for my willpower. Monday, the kids are back in school and I'll have a little more freedom to get to the gym. Yeah, as gross as it is exercise really is the key. I HATE cardio but grudgingly stay on the elliptical for 30mins 'cuz I know I will like the results later. I'm lucky in that I have a bum knee that qualifies me for 2days a week of exercise therapy so it's like having a trainer twice a week w/out paying for it. When coverage runs out I'm not sure what I'll do....I'm not real good at pushing myself. I'm a bit of a pricess in that way. ; )
Anyway, here's a link to the meal plan I've been following. It works well for me soI wanted to share. http://www.scribd.com/doc/2094947/1500-calorie-meal-plan
oh
yeah.....6-8glasses of water a day!

It sounds like all of you already have a good plan! I am on day 3 of my "lifestyle change". I am going to be 40 this year and I don't want to celebrate that milestone at my heaviest weight ever. Except for being pregnant this is the heaviest I have ever been.

When we got married I was the smallest i've ever been, mostly due to a waitressing job and no money for groceries LOL. Now i'm the heaviest i've ever been.

Weighing in at 158 in my jammies.

I'm 5'1, 28 yrs old.

Last time I was weighed was at the Dr's office, with jeans and boots and coat on. So today is a good start, I thought I was 166

New goal is 30lbs = 128lbs.

The BMI chart is a little alarming. Apparently I could go down to 90lbs and still be 'normal'. I don't think so

Certainly not mentally.

I'm going to try and walk a lot more with my also chubby Labrador, before rattlesnake season sets in. Also i'll try to get more outdoor projects done, repairing fences, cleaning out the coops etc.

I'm back with my official stats:
Age: 38
Height: 5'6"
Current weight: 167
Goal weight: 135

This thread is going to be huge very quickly. Will there be a way to put everyones info on a spreadsheet or some format that is easier to track?

Do I need to post why BMI is a scam?!?! You guys PLEASE don't pay much attention to that!!! BMI is NOT a good scale, it is very inaccurate, and very discouraging to a lot of people. To get an accurate BMI the doctor has to do a complete test like on Biggest Loser to measure fat/muscle ratios. The Wii Fit and all that is guesstimation, and you will be UNDERWEIGHT if you go by it! According to the Wii, I could go down to 120!! I'd look like DEATH!! Just use it as a very rough target please. I SO want everyone to be healthier at the end of this

Starving yourself is a sure way to GAIN weight. By NOT eating your body will hoard anything you ingest and store it as fat.

Last year on January 7th I started working out and eating properly. Lots of protein, low fat foods. Didn't pay to much attention to carbs either. But I worked out and did 45 mins to an hour of cardio a day, and also did weight training. I went from a 36 waist to a 32 waist in about a month and half and lost 30 pounds. Unfortunately I quit mid year, and have gained it all back.

One of the most successful programs I used was sparkpeople.com. The food tracker feature really helped me keep track of my caloric intake etc.
