Rooster, Just wondering what your doberman is like. Mine is an absolute sweetheart. Love her so much. She is getting old but insists on being with me as much as she can. Parks herself nearby for the most mundande tasks.
Snake-fearers, if you are that close to them- check the eyes. Poisonous snakes have a slit pupil in their eye like a cat. Banded watersnakes seem to be really common, their is also a thick one that looks like a cottonmouth but has a yellow underbelly. Copperheads normally shy away from people but cottonmouths can be aggressive.
To me it is ashame how many hogmouth snakes are killed because they are mistaken for other snakes. They are really harmless. People mistake them for copperheads, cottonmouths.
I still really hate spiders but I have educated myself enough about snakes that they don't bother me so much.
Oh my gosh! Do you know how it got in the house? How did you get it out? I've heard that if you have a gap somewhere that the snake or rodents can get in, you can stuff it with steel wool or one of those copper scrubbies and they won't even try to get past it.
