At what age did your chickens lay?

They'll get the same position as mating with a rooster. They'll slighty open the wings and put the chest down and the butt up. This will mainly happen when you try to approach her from her back, or you put a handnon her back

[My Very First 6 Chickens]

No..they make a weird clucky sound, squat, and push up their wings kind of oddly..you’ll know it when you see it..! They kind of react to your hand when you pet them there between their wings on their back..maybe it helps steady the rooster there when he is trying to..do his business..it makes me feel weird, I always say “oh honey..you don’t have to do that for your papa!”…lol..

Omg! You just prevented me from announcing squating and clucking behavior in the emergency section!!! thank you! I know I’ll notice it when it happens. I spend quit a bit of time with these girls.

They are such prey animals, so wary, so quick to react, don’t you feel special when they trust you so much they’ll sleep on you?
