Fancychooklady, you could be my new best friend lols!  I am learning as I go along and you have a wealth of knowledge!
As I mentioned, Cilla went broody and I didn't fancy the available options of breaking that broodiness so I drove out to a lady who was selling fertile Bantam Silkie eggs and bought 5!
I wish I had more time and didn't live in suburbia because I love spending time with my girls and would love to have more.  Showing was not a consideration.
I have to admit, the rate they are growing, I did check back on her advert that she said 'Bantam" .. ah well, they are what they are and I adore them!

Teila, I think that after reading the quote at the bottom of your post, we have a lot in common. Always glad to help!

I would just like to thank Satay again for tracking me down some king quail eggs for my daughters new incubator. We should get them in a couple of weeks thanks to Satay the angel .

Hi guys having trouble finding silkies up my way, came across some polish and frizzle chickens any advice? They look awesome , Also have brought 2 commercial layers to keep my egg production up so i would like another breed to keep them company.

I have a sizzle and a couple of female frizzle pekins. Adorable little girls but go broody alot.

Sizzie was off the eggs running around yesterday but i ran out of time to go see if her nest is still there.. Will take a peak this morning.

Yep I have 2 crossbred layers to take care of us as far as eggs go and we are looking at adding a few of the fancier chickens to our flock. Just waiting to here back from a lady who has some polish and frizzles she also has silkies but they only just went into the incubator.

Thanks satay. The sun is up and the horses are loaded. Will have to leave the interstate visitors to their own devices, were off to a one day event. Both girls are competing, so it's a long day. I recon the roosters crowing will have them all out of bed sooner than later.
