Australorp Pride! Let's see those pics!

Pics
When I went out to feed, water, and collect eggs yesterday, I had to laugh. In the pen that my young Blue Australorp rooster is in, he was trying to breed with a Black Australorp hen in there, and one of the Blue hens chased him off the Black. He has been trying so hard with them. Anyways, just out of curiosity, I cracked open 2 of the eggs from that pen to check to see if he was managing to do anything. One of the eggs was fertile and one was not, so it shouldn't be much longer until all the girls start surrendering, I think.

These are from pen #1 (all Australorps):

Beautiful birds! Looking at these if I have one that is getting pure white wing feathers she may not be simply the green black. Will be interesting seeing what color/colors she turns out to be.

Thank you! Also keep in mind that mine are not the hatchery type, so the tails are a bit different also. The blacks of mine are black black, not the brownish black. All of mine have the black eyes.

I have some hens that hate it when a rooster crows they all gang up on him if he crows they also don't like it when he tries to mate hens

Ok so you guys know the broody BA I told you guys about awhile ago well her eggs are hatching now!

Good luck on your hatch! :celebrate My Splash Australorp hen has been insistent on staying in the nestbox for a couple of weeks now, so yesterday I broke down, and marked 2 eggs and gave them to her. I guess I could sacrifice 2 eggs to see how she's going to do. ;)

Edit: Update- I gave her 2 more eggs today, so she now has 4 total. If all goes well and they all hatch, I should have 4 more of these Australorp chicks around July 7th.
