The bear hit again trying to get in, but did not get any birds. Ofcourse I was out drumming when he showed again. Thanks for the PM and congrats on your hatch. I am glad everthing turned out for you with my eggs. The real light blues could be your splashes.
I will try to attach a pic for comparison with yours. The below pics are of my blue, black, and splash 6 day old babies. The lightest ones are the splashes.

I cannot imagine living where there are bears. I'd never go outside! Lol. I guess you get used to them but still.... Sorry you lost your girls, hope he doesn't come back.

I have always said that Australia scares me more than anywhere. Bears are nothing compared to your poison common brown snakes, cane toads, great white sharks, brown recluse spiders, etc.
Talk about going outside or swimming. LOL are you kidding me!!

There are recluse spiders in CA.

I bet they are in Washington too.

We also have both southern and northern black widows and some very nasty timber rattlers.

Contrary to what many think about California, most of the State is the wild west after all....Los Angeles and the Bay area are not big geographically but are huge politically.

Nope they HATE moisture which we have lots of.

And that is why there are some 20+ county's wanting to separate in the north. Jefferson state they call it.
