Australorps breed Thread

.I am not sure why but is it normal for her chicks to be all different not one looks the same by feather patterns except the one chick looks like Bella and will it be possible to identify roosters from hens at 2 months?

Interesting chicks. The pullets should be great layers.
tHat is quite a variety ...I would say your Aussie may have mixed parentage.
Do you see any spur nubs on their legs ?
I s that Russian I hear in the Video ?

I attached a video clip to show all 8 but ill be happy to post more photos too.
Goodness, they did all come out like the mystery chick order didn't they! All cute though :) 8 weeks is the age you will start seeing changes happening with your roosters. Watch for longer feathers coming in on the neck and the way they stand starting to look more upright. Your tails should start getting longer too. Don't pay attention to spurs at this age, girls get those too and the male ones don't really develop till round 12 months. Keep your eye on the ones with the most obvious combs and watch for development there too. If they are pure australorp I believe the girls keep yellow combs from about 4-8 weeks where the boys turn pink during that time, not sure if that will work with the extra genes you have in these though. Having so many may make it a little easier, look for the ones that start to change in appearance compared to the others. Give it a couple more weeks and you might just hear some crowing too :)

Not when I have to pick it up lol. My son used to be a huge fan though, I'd be rich if he would let me sell it lol. Was a bit of a sad day when we finally had a xmas couple years ago and he didn't ask for any.
