baby duck with lots of problems

EEEEEEEE, Patty, your chickens, all of them are so dang cute. Can you hold them. I love Autumn's coloring. May I come over and love squeeze her? Bee Bee and Bubba are beautiful. It looks as though both girls are smaller than him.

It seems you know exactly what you are talking about. I am impressed. I bet you are spot on as to their parentage and relations.
Thank you Julie. Yes I can hold them all and you can to just come over and you will have a lap full of chickens. Especially if you have treats they love to eat. Right now they are smaller then Bubba but I think they will be larger when they grow up. I've never had EE's before but I think they get pretty big. I do have 2 teenage orphingtons too they are as big as Bubba now. They will be huge when grown. The two teenage Isa Browns are about the size of Autumn and Bee. I wish I had never got them. They are egg laying machines and usually die around the age of 3. I keep telling the Isa Browns you don't have to lay any eggs but they lay daily. They are another breed that I bought first and then reseached and then said oh no. I want a breed that is going to live a long and happy life and be friendly and I don't really care about the eggs.

Have fun at the pool, we took our dogs to the river on Sunday to play and that mountain water was cold so i just waded. We're wimps as we get older. lol

My 4 chicks that hatched back in May I am thinking 3 are roos..Any one want an extra rooster? they sure are pretty. Free shipping to qualified member. lol
I can't stand cold water I can bearly put my feet in my sisters pool if it is cold. I go mainly to see my sisters and spend some time with them. We talk about old times.

I hope you find a nice homes for your roos. I know it's hard to try and find them homes. I have 3 roo's already. bubba, Coach and Jr. Coach and Jr. are the old roo's that let Bubba rule the roost. Occassionally they challenge Bubba but it doesn't last long.

As always, your posts about your flock are amazingly wonderful and entertaining. I will be moving into your yard shortly with my tent. I am a quiet person.
Thank you Julie ducks and chickens are great company and they are better then watching tv for me.

Pitch your tent in the yard and I'm sure you have plenty of company.

I surprised Topper then morning. She snuck around to the front yard after she had her eggs and peas in the side yard to eat Sherry's food. After I put the food in the bowl I reached down and picked her up. She was livid there I was holding her and she couldn't get to Sherry's food. Donald kept giving me dirty looks and I told him I was holding the little piggy and I wasn't hurting her. After I sit her down she run over to the pool and took a bath. I must have got her dirty. The little brat didn't even come back to see if Sherry ate all of her food.

Take note here of this bird: Head to toe, please. Her face is really cute. then her neck goes down into this perfectly round, plumpish (from feathers) to her tapered tail area and then HER WEBS on the grass. She is a light bulb of Bewrd. I love her. May I come over and kiss her?
Thank you Julie I will tell Sherry all you said and she already knows how cute she is.Clyde tells her everyday how beautiful she is. She would love a big kiss from you but bring your running shoes because you have to catch her first.

I don't like cold water either, Patti. Too painful. I hope you fine a home for that extra roo. Is it too much hassle having too many boy chickens around with mating and all?
Fighting can be bad but they are still young so none of that yet and then over mating the hens just like in ducks. So far out of the 4 only 2 are crowing and that is a hoot in it self. But the 3rd one really looks like a roo too. I have never had such a hard time sexing chickens as these 4.

My dominant rooster Rufus will train the roosters but I have a feeling fighting will commence soon and that will keep the flock stressed out. More than likely we'll process the extras I cannot give them away knowing some one may use them to train fighting cocks.

LOL! Julie if you want Sherry love, you'll need your running shoes. That mental picture gives me giggles!

I have a theory...the chickens are trying to be difficult to sex since they know what might come next for the roos. I love those rooster tails! Gorgeous!

Patty, I really only have time to swim on the weekends. It is really nice & relaxing!

Once the boys start acting like roo's then the fights begin. I think this is the lowest amount of roo's we have ever had. When we had the two coops going if the roos started fighting one would go to the misfit coop,.We now have 11 girls and 3 boys. Jr and Coach are at the age they would have to have viagra to do anything. The coop is pretty peaceful now and that's the way I like to keep it.

That is funny. They must be pretty old because our dominant roo is 6 now and he is still going strong with the ladies. I like to keep at least 2 roos in my flock and usually the next in line respects the oldest but maybe Rufus might meet his match this year. Hopefully not and he'll still teach the younger to respect him and he does it with out fighting too. I love to watch roosters within the flock it seems everything just goes better when there is a roo.
