baby duck with lots of problems

I'd rather have ducks. I had silkies. They're okay. But ducks? MOAR!

That really surprises me. Don't you use your chickens for eggs as well as for pets?

I do have chickens for pets and eggs my girls are 2 yrs and older so they have slowed down on egg laying I have 2 hens that are 7 and 6 yrs old the rest are 3 yrs and 2 yrs. and then I have 4 chicks born this late spring. I do love fresh eggs so maybe I should rephrase it to once these girls go on I will keep a very small flock just for fresh eggs. Not 16 like I have now maybe 4 hens and a roo. That sound ideal to me.

Thank you Julie. Yes I can hold them all and you can to just come over and you will have a lap full of chickens. Especially if you have treats they love to eat. Right now they are smaller then Bubba but I think they will be larger when they grow up. I've never had EE's before but I think they get pretty big. I do have 2 teenage orphingtons too they are as big as Bubba now. They will be huge when grown. The two teenage Isa Browns are about the size of Autumn and Bee. I wish I had never got them. They are egg laying machines and usually die around the age of 3. I keep telling the Isa Browns you don't have to lay any eggs but they lay daily. They are another breed that I bought first and then reseached and then said oh no. I want a breed that is going to live a long and happy life and be friendly and I don't really care about the eggs.

I totally agree with you Patty about the age length versus the egg laying capabilities. I would want them around much longer for sure too. I am glad the chickens are easy to hold. I would love to have a lapful of them. I've always thought they were cute. And their diversity in breeds seems to be endless.

Thank you Julie ducks and chickens are great company and they are better then watching tv for me.

Pitch your tent in the yard and I'm sure you have plenty of company.

I surprised Topper then morning. She snuck around to the front yard after she had her eggs and peas in the side yard to eat Sherry's food. After I put the food in the bowl I reached down and picked her up. She was livid there I was holding her and she couldn't get to Sherry's food. Donald kept giving me dirty looks and I told him I was holding the little piggy and I wasn't hurting her. After I sit her down she run over to the pool and took a bath. I must have got her dirty. The little brat didn't even come back to see if Sherry ate all of her food.

You're welcome. Cool, I am sure I will have company. They are welcome to come into the tent and spoon with me at bedtime.

Topper!! You had your share. I thinks it's funny you picked her up and she got mad. And then Donald glaring at you is funny, too. As I keep saying, your stories are always so entertaining.
