baby duck with lots of problems

Finally the house next door is tore down. It only took an hour and a half to do. As far as I can see the fence is still up. Thank god. I'm going to keep the coop shut up for as long as I can I know the teenagers will be jumping the fence and coming in the back yard here. The bulldozer is still over there chopping up the big stuff.

I hope everyone has a nice day. I'm off to feed the flock here.

He used to be an only duck (haha) inside the house so he was very spoiled then we got Lady (his now mate) because we realized how lonely he really was (he thought I was his mate for a while, and while that was flattering and I love him very much I knew he needed a real duck friend/mate) and we let her hatch some babies (9) and we kept three, two males (Henry and Charlie) and one female (Sally) and now he's being all alpha duck and mean to Henry and Charlie, not letting them swim or eat treats, etc. So I have to scold him and put him in 'time outs' when I see him being super mean. I know some things are because he is the 'alpha' but I won't stand for him being mean for no reason, and he knows it. He'll run from me when I'm scolding him or put his head down and quack at me every now and then like saying "yea mom, I know, I won't do it again" but he'll turn around and do it again. So to the time out he goes
that makes sense then. Big boy bird should not be mean to the other ducks. Dave needs to keep his ego in check. Good thing you are there to do that.

Okay you may be sick of Opie before this is over but some how i made 3 vids so here is the next one.

Never mind it's the same one

Okay lets try this one

I think this is the last one I know you all are hoping LOL

I love those! Sounds like you have the same problem I do with ducks not wanting to cooperate by acting like their normal selves when I have a camera in my hand.

Yes the fires are very worrying..there was one that was only a few miles from our town the other day, my friend had to evacuate, it never reached her house but almost.. I've got kennels so I would load them up in the Van and we would take off. My grandfather owns four hundred plus acres of farm and trees for lumber on a hill nearby, that's what I worry about most. Because homeless people live near there and smoke all day long. There's cows and horses up there, some are mine. So I pray every day it's okay

I bet you do that is so scary. We live in the woods and just thinking about hunters walking around up on the mountain behind us is worrisome. I hope you all get some relief very soon.

My plan to is to load everyone up in dog kennels Not sure were we'll go but at least we'd all be together.

Yep they never cooperate and if they only knew how hard that was for me getting it on you tube. They probably would have still made it difficult. lol
