baby duck with lots of problems

Me too, my internet just came back on and what a nice why to get back to BYC hear such a good report.

I like the name too Que Sera I am happy she has made such a big change in Turbo.

Now we need some pics.

Thanks Deb and Smurf I'm hoping to download a couple of pics later on tonight.

I'm glad you like the name, I was reading a book and they mentioned Que Sera Sera. I had been racking my brain for a name for her then when I read that I thought that was perfect. As soon as my grandson gets up I will have him download a couple of pics of them. I have no idea how to do that.

I was wondering since I have been putting the nutridrrench in the water should Turbo still have his Polyvisol vitamins? I haven't been giving him those for the last 2 days. I don't want to overload him on vitamins but do you think he still needs those?

Thanks again.

Nope no need to give the Poly Vi Sol just the nutri drench it will benefit both of your littles. I have always given my new hatchlings Nutri drench for the first week along with their mamas just give them all a good boost. Once you see Turbo really holding his own you can cut back to every other day then just keep cutting back till it's once a week I'd continue giving brewers yeast or nutritional yeast though till 10-12 weeks old. When my flock is going through molt they get Nutri drench 2X a week .

Turbo and Que Sera

That is one of the most precious pics I have seen here on BYC and I've seen quite a few. Turbo looks like he is the fearless leader in the first one. Snuggle buddy in second. What happened in the third did he just go over and lay down? look at Que Sera what a pose. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Thanks I'm glad you liked them. They are quite the pair aren't they? The third pic I think he had just flipped back on his belly and he got turned around and just as Que Sera had struck her pose.

I really must hand it to you, those pictures are GREAT! I sort of feel like an idiot, sitting here, alone in a room, laughing. But what a couple of little treasures. It's kind of a shame they grow so fast. Really, this adorable stage is gone so soon! Even though adult ducks are wonderful creatures, I still with I could preserve a bit of the hatchling stage......maybe for another week or two.
Thank you for posting those.

I will send whatever good thoughts your way. I don't know if my prayers will matter, but I will still say them! You know, this immediate bond that your two little ones have developed.......it will become a lifelong thing between them. In my own case, my ducks started out as "roommates," and have ended up as devout friends! They share warmth (when it gets cool at night), companionship, living space, and probably some intangibles that I am too dense to see.
Oddly enough, my little group of four have not been enjoying their swimming pool. I know it's odd, but when I put them in, they immediately pop right out! Maybe when summer hits and it gets hot outside, they might begin to enjoy the cool water.
I have never had a crested duck or even considered one, but after seeing your Turbo, my heart has swung open. Maybe next year will be when I take the plunge. Thanks for sharing your lovely photos.

Thanks Gil my grandson took the pics for me. I was busy trying to make sure they didn't jump off the chair. I know they are so adorable at this size but they have to grow up. I hope these two remain friends for the rest of their lives. Que Sera has really boosted Turbos spirit. He's doing things on his own now and seems so much happier. He needs all the prayers he can get for his balance issues. I hope one day he will be able to walk normal.

My ducks are the same way about the pool. Some of them won't even get in it. Then we have the pool hogger CP (cutie Pie) that could lounge in there all day. If he had a little floatie for his food he could probably live in there.

Turbo and Que Sera are taking their naps. I love to watch their little antics.
