baby duck with lots of problems

Donald, Cp, Topper, Dee Dee and Freckles are the flock that thinks they can boss all the other ducks around.  Mainly it's Donald, CP and Topper thinks they are above all the other ducks in the yard.  Dee and Freckles just go along with the others.  They go out front and try and run Sherry away from her food.  Poor Clyde can't get around to good so he can't protect Sherry.  Donalds group won't come in the back yard because Sonny protects his little flock and I also close the gate to keep them out.

Sonny, Thelma, Louise, Que Sera, Rhonda Runner, Hershey, Yoo Hoo and Uno are the flock in the back yard.  Sonny is the leader in the back yard flock and he chases Topper whenever he gets a chance.  I think he would like to convert Topper to the backyard flock but Topper hates Sonny.  Topper thinks that the backyard flock is beneath her since she reins Queen and must be regarded as such.

When I open the gate the backyard flock will go to the other side but they stay away from Toppers gang.  The two groups don't mingle with each other.  Sometimes CP and Donald will chase Thelma, Louise or Rhonda but they will run back over to the other side.  Sonny runs after them trying to get them away from his girls.  They usually leave each other alone .  If the males do fight it's mainly a shoving contest and one will back down.

Uno is still his little pitiful self.  The one wing sticking up and the black eyes. I still have to get a picture of him so you all can see his wing.

Patty
Patty, wow. Amazing. Your birds and the groupings. They are just like people all the way. Such an entertaining read. Sweet little Uno. I hope his wing gets better.

Thanks Deb and I haven't even started on the touch ups of Que Sera.  I'm scared it will turn out worse.

Let me try and explain the different groups I know it's confusing.

Group One
Donald, Topper and Dee Dee
subgroup of group One
C.P. (drake) and Freckles. This subgroup hangs with Donald and them and Donald uses CP as backup when he needs it.  Donald chases Freckles away when I try and feed them their boiled egg in the morning.  I have to position myself between Donald and Freckles or she won't get anything to eat.  I get mad at CP because he won't defend Freckles that's his mate.  He stands there and lets Freckles get picked on by Donald.

Group Two
Clyde and Sherry (Que Sera's mom and Dad).

Group three
Sonny, Thelma, Louise, Rhonda Runner, Que Sera, Yoo Hoo, Hershey and Uno.

Sherry tried her best to reclaim Que Sera when we were out front with Turbo.  I usually took Turbo out front because the boards were out there.  Que Sera would not have anything to do with her.  She would hide behind my legs when Sherry come close.  After Turbo passed away I felt like the backyard was safer for her to be plus Yoo Hoo and Hershey were in the back yard.  I wanted her to have playmates her size.  Plus Thelma and Louise were much better mothers then Sherry.  Sherry let her babies run wild and we were always rescuing them.

I hope that gives you some idea of the groups.  I don't know if Que Sera, Uno, Hershey and Yoo Hoo might branch out from the Sonny group when they get older.  They seem to have their little click going on.  I guess it gets boring for them always hanging out with the parents.

Patty
this is so awesome. I'd pitch my tvs in the trash if I had that whole bunch of ducks. Cute things. U could write an entertaining book, Patty.

The fish and Que Sera. The one of Que Sera was when she was flapping her little wings I think she was about 3 weeks old. Ok now you can go ahead and laugh. :barnie I still have to do some touch ups on Que Seras pic and I might cut out some wings and a tail to do the 3 d effect. I did remember to turn the pic over this time. They are going in the bathroom and I am going to pretend I love them. Patty
they are great, Patty. Thanks for sharing.

Yay! Now I've got it. LOL...I just kept forgetting that Clyde & Sherry are their own group. Thanks, dear!!
Your welcome I know it's hard to keep track of everybody.

Thanks Julie really I don't watch tv at all. I have all my entertainment in the yard and I do crafts and I read a lot too.

When you go in the yard you don't know what your going to see. You may see romance, comedy, a sad story, fights or their favorite is the food channel. Sometimes you may even see x-rated especially when your sisters drop you off and one says oh Patty that duck is killing the other one. No their just having sex.

Hubbie and I just did a search and rescue. We have a a big flight cage in the coop and Jr. the old rooster usually stays in that. The door is always open and he entertains Phyllis she comes in and out and sometimes Goldie visits him. Well this morning when I fed them Jr. come outside. Usually when he goes out him and Bubba have a go around. Kung fu fighting is popular with the roosters. I really didn't see him fight at all this morning. Then when I go to feed them this evening Jr is not in his cage and he is no where to be found. We search the coop and the yard and I finally find him. He is stuck between the privacy fence and the chain link fence and he can't get out. He is ok I put him back in the cage and he is eatting. I don't know how long he was stuck there and how he got all the way on the other side of the fence. I'm just glad I found him.

Poor Jr. so glad you found him and he is okay. Bless.

I fed the chickens and ducks this morning and I was almost afraid to open the coop door. I was worried that Jr might be sick. He was fine and demanding his boiled eggs so he could call Phyllis to join him in the cage.

I spoke to Que Sera and told her how beautiful she was. You know she is not quacking all the time like she used to. I guess they convinced her to be quiet unless she had something really important to say. Do I miss her little voice? Yes I do even when I think back to the times when she sounded like a tornado siren going off in the hallway.

I got Que Seras picture finished last night. I cut out medal butterflies and painted them and glued them down. I also did some little flowers. I put some real duck feathers on her tail. She has a little gold crown on top of her head. She looks like a real princess now.

I hope everyone has a nice day and hugs a chicken or duck and of course Julie hug your finch ducks.

Ohhhh, Patty, we need to see the finished product purty please!

A couple of nights ago I was putting the babies to bed. They had finished their peas and were just chattering amongst themselves. Then I remembered they, especially Alfalfa, used to like me singing to them when they were in the brooder. After a few seconds of me singing, they all got completely quiet, stood all still just looking at me and my girl Alfalfa wagged her tail at me! I know it wasn't just a twitch because she did it like 6 times and she didn't stop until my song was over. TOO CUTE!!
