baby duck with lots of problems

We got a few sprinkles yesterday not enough to measure. Has it quit raining down there? I hope so. It's in t he 50s but it feels much cooler.

Patty
Not yet still have tomorrow to get through, the river is over it's banks now but we are high enough it doesn't get to us. Thankfully.. Cool here to in the 50's I hope some of this rain makes it up your way, I talked to my uncle in Pa and he said they are getting rain from this system. So maybe it will go further west to ya'll

Julie don't forget his fan club.  ;)

Patty
Patty, you're right. So many of us are his fans. He is a character. He comes and goes into the house, talks to the oven and pulls the towel off, pancakes next to Patti when she eats, has many girlfriends, fights with poor sweet Samson but loves DH and doesn't like the rain. What is there not to love about this duck birb!?!

Patti when it floods like that are you able to go to the grocery store? That would really be bad I would feel so isolated. I hope the rain stops soon for you and things get back to normal. If it flooded like that here we probably wouldn't have electricity or cable.

I'll try and send you some of this sunshine if you send me a little rain. Take care and give that Opie a big hug from me.

Patty

And I forgot to add, Patti, that he swaggers.

I keep plenty of things on hand Patty and most of the time even if the water goes over the road byt then exrt day if the rain stops it will have already receded. Once we couldn't get out for 2 days that was when we had rain from 2 back to back hurricanes from the gulf in 2004.We were with out power for a week once and couldn't get out until we cut all the trees off the road, this was a heavy snow storm that came through . We bought a generator after that time late 90's.

Forgot to say Opie lost some of his swagger to day while we were at church. I am not sure what happened but I think Samson just got tired of Opie pushing them around and fought back. Opie couldn't wait to get to us and inside and he was covered in mud. Sam just a little dirty. So I don't know what it will be like when I put Opie back out i am going to do my outside chores so i can observe them. Poor Opie he has worn the crown for a while now. We are still cloudy but no rain now for a couple hours so maybe it is finished. South Carloina got hit hard much worse than us. Other than the coast of NC. Dh keeps track of the rain gauge and he says over last week over 10" of rain. I hope they say we are now out of drought.

Patti, sad thing is that even with tons of rain if it does not get the chance to soak in the drought just continues. A month or so ago we got those heavy rains that caused all the flooding and devastation down around Wimberley. We went out of the drought and then a week later were right back. I all just runs in and off down the rivers instead of the water table.

I know but the ground is sure saturated so hopefully some went into the water table. This coming week looks dry and sunny after tomorrow.

Yes, we mustn't forget about his swagger...or what's left of it. Poor Opie!

Does he seem okay, Patti, other than being so muddy?
