Since Tintin is leaving today and my chicks have no name yet I like to name the chicks in memory of Tintin.
The 2 boys could be named Thomson . Captain&Haddock or Professor& Calculus are nice possibilities too.
The girl is more difficult.

Found this shortlist with English names to pick from. But there are more on Wikipedia and in the Dutch language some names are different.

• Tintin
• Snowy
• Captain Haddock
• Professor Calculus
• Thomson and Thompson
• Bianca Castafiore

Main characters in NL: Kuifje, Bobbie, Kapitein Haddock, Jansen, and Janssen Professor Zonnebloem (translated to En Sunflower).
Important side figures: Bianca Castafiore, generaal Alcazar, Nestor, Roberto Rastapopoulos, dokter Müller, Serafijn Lampion en Allan Thompson.

She is/will be a rather dark striped chicken. Therefore Snowy and Bianca would be a bit strange.

Hmmm I like Kapitein Haddock because the thought of a little pullet as the captain of all the haddocks is amusing but my sense of humour is maybe too *cough* unique.

Ooooh, name choices! I rather like Rastapopoulos, Rasta for short, but then I have some rather weird names choices myself.

Tintin left the premises. So glad he gets a wonderful home where he is really wanted. The people are very pleased with looks and were amazed how big he was being 3 months old.

Names for the boys so far:​

• Thompson and Thomson (2 Englishmen not in NewYork but in a small university town in the Netherlands)
• Jansen and Janssen should be an option too I suppose.

Names for the girl so far and no translations needed:​

• Captain (sounds better than Kapitein, just Captain will do if she turns out to be a leader)
• Rasta (Yes thats enough for sure)
• Professor (Mmmm .. lets see if she is smart enough to earn such a name)

Maybe I should wait for @fluffycrow or any other Greek person to chime in. I wonder if Rastapopoulos has a meaning in the Greek language. If it means holy father I’m not sure I will like the name for my dear Amrock pullet. And I certainly didn’t plan to add a series of icons in my new coop.

Rastapopoulos does sound to be Greek, or at the very least of Greek decent. "-poulos" is a very common suffix for Greek surnames. It can also mean something else, but this website is family friendly. Rasta by itself is also a Greek word, but I doubt it's meaning is being used here. Altogether, it doesn't mean anything. Just a surname

Kuifje sounds like a very nice name for the female. Thompson & Thomson would be hilarious for the boys

Kuifje is not just another name for Tintin. Its also the name of the upstanding hair up front of the character. Thats why Tintin fitted so wel for the Sulmtaler boy. But for a female Amrock it would be just as strange as lady Gaga for a rooster without a meat costume.

You definitely don't like that name, you've made that clear. My name choices for the chickens are if nothing else, meant to crack me up

Rasta sounds good, for the female then. If Kuifje means Tintin, then it's true that it won't fit her
