black duck egg? lol

I found this egg in my barn today.. just curious on what kind of duck could've laid it. I have alot of different breeds... and can't really pin point what hen would have laid it.

My bet would be a Cayuga. They are known for black eggs. Over time she will lay lighter eggs. Mine is just under a year and hers are green but slowly getting lighter. I'm guess it will take her a few years for it to be white.

Cayuga, and I've heard that Black Swedish will lay the black eggs, too.

Likely cayuga.
BEI lay black eggs also but they are usually smaller

Anconas can lay black eggs as well but they aren't as common in the breed

How weird and strange. Our 5 Ancona ducks gave us these eggs today so the black thing happens with them as noted above.
