<<Blue Copper Marans>> who won the ones on ovabid?

I wish she would show the eggs with the adults and chicks, so we could see how far she is along in developing egg color. I have noticed a lot of breeders don't show the eggs on their sites if they have a lot of off color marans. I got some used blue/splash marans from someone selling out their flock. I expect absolutely horrible egg color from them, but the birds are so pretty I don't care if they lay pure white. I like them.

Here is a picture of the marans eggs from I got from ovabid. These are the ones that were listed with this description :

"15+ Maran Eggs - Black,Birchen,Cuckoo,Wheaton,Golden,Blue".

They are resting in my turner for a little bit before I put them in the incubator. I put the French marans egg scale on the picture for reference. I have a hard time telling, but I do think there are some 4s.

Most I would qualify as 4's ! That should be a beautiful dark egg layer flock ! Even if they aren't 4's I would consider most exeptable considering its getting late in the laying season.
