Bobwhite Cracked too early

On day 21, I removed my eggs from the turner, only to see an egg on the last row completely pipped all the way around. I was assuming that by this time, he was a goner. Here we are on day 23 and he is still rolling and cheeping. We also had a mishap of the lid not being completely in place (not sure for how long...but my temps maintained). With no other eggs pipping at this point, I'm afraid we've lost the whole bunch. I know to never help a chick out of the egg...but I'm really having to restrain myself on this one. How long can they survive once they've cracked the shell? Should I help our (possibly/probably) only chick?

If the egg is zipped all the way around, it won't do any harm to pop the top off and let it get out from there.
