Brabanters and Spitzhaubens--The Differences PIC HEAVY!

This is the gold Brabanter cockerel I hatched this spring. He is seven months old. I did not keep any of the pullets. He has a funky comb, but I can live with it. I have not had Brabanters as long as my Spitz, so there is still a lot to work to do.

Maybe by the time I've had mine five years, I'll be ready to show. The Spitz I got from Carla's eggs, I could probably show now, but the Brabanters need work.

I haven't ever shown or gone to a show. (Does walking through the poultry section at the PA Farm Show in Harrisburg count?) If Spitz aren't APA recognized how are they shown? Is there a class for them at some shows? A hodge-podge class for Others or Mutts? Would judges be familiar with a non recognized breed?

The other horn is there, just not very prominent. His dad's comb developed more as he got older.​

I dont remember if you do show or rather NOT show at all (due to bio) and hopefully your chicks will do well!

These are my Spring "babies". They are 11 weeks old.

Group photo - 5 of the 7 chicks.

This little guy had wry neck. Baby vitamins seemed to have fixed him.

Others:

This is one set of parents; they are coming out of a molt, and don't look their best. I have two pens with one roo and four hens in each, plus one pen of five older bachelor hens with no roo..
