The main thing I'm not liking is that tail. It needs to be nice and well spread. A good Brahma tail will look like an inverted U from behind. Her wings don't appear to blend in with the rest of the body very well either. They should kind of tuck away under the feathers.

Lol I got that after I asked that! Haha! I have been moving since last Saturday so my brain is pretty fried! Along with my arms and my legs and my back. Hubby and I are moving the chickens tomorrow and fixing the linoleum flooring in the bathrooms before we move completely from that house. We are already in the new one but still having to go back and forth for the chickens and the dogs and the garden and so on. Lol. It's very hard to get all this done in such a short time frame. Long story short...I think the heat has gotten to me! house chicken! Rotfl! I do have 4 house chickens but 2 are white rock chicks and 1 bantam barred rock that thinks she's a person and a barred rock that broke his leg a few months ago and doesn't ever want to go outside! Chickens and animals are my life!

update on Brahma chick.
It walks and hops on one leg most of the time. I think its safe to say this is an injury and not a disease.

Placed chick Back with the rest. Sadly it seems to have lost its spot in the pecking order, something I didn't want . But it was better to be safe than sorry.

I know very little about chickens, but I got this beautiful Light Brahma on an impulse about a month ago when getting some other chickens. I'm not normally an impulsive person, but she was just too beautiful to pass up. Her personality is great, as well. She is not afraid of the big roosters, and they totally leave her alone when she eats with them...unlike the other birds in her age class, which are chased off and pecked now and then. She has a regal bearing. She never rushes to food in desperation. She has become my favorite chicken.







She was sold as pullet, and I am really hoping that she is (her comb looks awfully pink). I keep reading conflicting information about Brahmas being poor layers vs. solid layers. How do they compare to Orpingtons for laying?

Congratulations, it's a girl! Lol. I'm new to Brahmas myself, though, so am not sure yet about their laying skills. Actually, I'm curious, too.
