Brahma Thread

I know this has been discussed over on the feeding forum but wanted input from the Brahma people. My light Brahmas are 11 weeks today, i have been feeding Purina medicated chick starter (20% protein). I am just about to finish the bag I have. They now have access to Florida dirt (sand) so I do not think I need the medicated any longer. Should I continue with this until they start laying or switch to Purina flock raiser (20% protein) or maybe the Dumor grower/finisher (15% protein).

Thanks in advance

Newish to BYC and finally figured out how to find threads on specific interests-- yey. I have three Brahma babies and love them. I was disappointed to find out Crele's don't exist here in the US but I saw some SilverLaced once-- drooling over those!
Petvet your avatar is quite handsome.
I have a broody hen: they stay on the nest, empty or not, do not lay, and fluff up when you try to take eggs from under them (if there are any). Mine doesn't cluck at all unless I get in there with her and then she bubbles and growls sortof. She will NOT be moved. I put eggs under her finally. Some Marans I found at a local swap and a few of my Lav Ams. So, I feed her a little in her box every morning so she isn't so starved and we all just wait for her hormones to change with the first pips and peeps.
Question: Do you all feel that Brahmas are as child safe as their reputation says?

alrighty it's been a while and i had to give up my Standard Buff brahma hens they weren't laying yet, were huge in size and were stressing out my laying producers. Then I ordered some Light Sussex chicks, But to me they look like Light brahma. What do you think I have never seen a light sussex with feathered feet before. maybe a light sussex, light brahma cross the feathering on their feet is nothing like a pure brahma should be. and at 8 wks are finally growing in tail feathers.
sorry not very good pics they are a lot more stand offish then every one else also little bullies, i had to separate the little cockerel because they were picking on him and his tiny compare to them. But here are some crappy pics. Please excuse the yellowing they got into something earlier that day that made them yellowish in some places.
