Broody duck help

We have hatching!! :wee

Johnny (the one who has been sitting with the others even though she doesn't have to and who's eggs I've been taking away to stop her sitting) seems a bit out of sorts, could she be jealous or upset or something about the other two having ducklings and not her, or do I need investigate further into another cause?

How many?! Pictures?!

I bet that’s what it is. They are a flock bird and she’s feeling off because her flock is separated from her. But she will be fine.

I don't know, they haven't finished yet! I've only caught a glimpse of one so far!

She's not completely cut off from them, and she is choosing to be outside rather than inside, but maybe she's feeling left out because she can't get right in and poke about and have a proper look (like me ;)) haha

I’m sure! Ducks are very curious like us! Hopefully she will be a good friend to the babies. I’m betting she will. If she realizes she can be with her friends if she’s nice to the babies. I’m betting on it.:fl:fl

They must have heard you! I went back out to check and someone popped out to say hello

I'll wait til its all over and everyone is up and out of bed and see if she perks up a bit then. They seem quite well fluffed up (I saw a few more after too but black on black is hard to photograph well, especially in semi darkness) so she might have been sat outside most of the night too :(
