Going to guess girl then. But Buckeyes can be pretty tough to sex until they reach maturity.

I took her from a group of 19. The ones that we think are cockerels had clear tail feathers starting to come in and their legs were very wide. This chick had much leaner legs and was fuller looking than the gangly cockerels. But boy are they hard to sex! Hoping I picked right, although I can always swap he/she out. Here is another shot. Thank you!

CONGRATULATIONS to Sierra Bruse! Sierra won BOTH Grand Champion Male Fowl AND Grand Champion Female Fowl at the county 4-H fair with her Buckeye large fowl!

Sierra's younger sister, Hannah is also very involved in their chicken project. Unfortunately, she is too young to show in 4-H this year.

We're very proud of these two youngsters, and wish them the best with their showing of Buckeyes at the Missouri State Fair!
