Budgie. Help?

Well, I could try. He speaks pretty good sparrow right now.
I adore it when they mimic sparrows, its so sweet.
He's young and a little nippy, but doesn't hurt too bad. I've been trying not to stare or sit too close to his cage until he loosens up. Poor fellow is petrified right now.

I saw the 'wild' budgie again. Poor thing won't make it if it keeps this up. Still got the trap set.
Poop lil guy, he's a cutie. He'll be fine, if you put a blanket over half of the cage it will help him feel secure.
I do hope to goodness you're able to catch him, he won't last long out there :hit

I used to have budgies, but only one at a time and male as they will then Talk and are very entertaining, he only went in his cage to sleep, eat or look at himself in his mirrors. Unfortunately, they are not easy birds to catch, its like a game to them

I caught my stray budgies with a pool net. I was unloading square bales and a pair of them arrived. A green one and a white one. At first I ignored them but put parakeet seed out for them which they devoured. The next day they were still around (I have a building used for rescue birds and they heard my parakeets chattering). So when it was about dark I tossed some seed for the lost parakeets and when they came to eat, I swooped in with the pool net and caught them. After quarantine for 30 days they joined my rescues, and I kept the pair for 12 years. Nobody claimed them and it was no telling how far they flew before arriving at my house.

Alas, I have no pool net. A shad net would work. If I could throw it. And if it didn't weigh so much I would risk killing the bird.

I moved the trap to a better position. It is baited with millet and seeds.
