Bumblefoot - Calling All Crunchy Natural Folks

Sorry to be short but I only have a moment. What do I do if I think a duck may be egg bound? If she gets up, she soon after just wants to lay down again.

Thank you in advance for any info you can provide.
when is the last time she laid? look at her vent is it pulsing? put her into a tub of nice warm water keep it very quiet in there while she is floating turn the lights down but stay with her. let her float till the water starts to cool down. Sometime warm water will help them relax enough the egg will come out. While she is floating gently feel down around the lower belly to see if you feel and egg. You can also lube up her vent put on latex glove and use Ky jelly or vaseline or coconut oil and gently go into the vent and around the outside. Do you have any calcium? tums will even work but put some calcium into some water and let it dissolve then let this be her drink over night. after she has floated you can keep her inside in the tub with old towels under her so the rest of he flock won't disturb her. She needs to be kept quiet and stress free.

Okay I really hope it won't hurt her for me t get to her in about an hour - I have to run an errand we can't reschedule and my husband wil be home with the kids - no way he'll get to it. :( I'll touch base with you again when I can start giving her a soak...

Checking in.

So sorry I disappeared for so long! I got caught up in a bunch of other stuff. I think the duck I was concerned about just psyched me out, because when I was able to get out there after getting the kids to bed she was walking around like nothing was wrong. I watched her eat, she did fine and was still strutting back and forth from food to water when I left. I really do hope it was just that she was tired or something but she was in that same spot for so long and then when I walked up to her to get her moving she only took a step and then laid back down - that's why I was concerned. Hopefully it will all be well in the morning when I can check on her again. Thank you Miss Lydia for your quick response and advice and thanks so much Amiga for checkng in - I love you experienced people on this site!

She seems fine today, Miss Lydia. So I don't know what that was all about, but I had a box ready for her in the house and everything - was anxious to get to her. I have been slightly suspicious about her health for a little while because her chest droops pretty low and then slopes back up near her legs - I'm not and expert and maybe that's nothing but in my eyes it seems kinda strange.

I let Daisy out with the others yesterday afternoon and Jo and his favorite female were the only two picking on her. I am keeping them in the coop/run today while Daisy roams with the others - hopefully that'll humble them enough. :)

P.S. A side-note..

We've been talking a little about coconut oil - we are huge fans of that stuff. We buy it in 5-gallon buckets! One of the many ways we use it is blending a couple tablespoons into our coffee every morning. :)

Now does the coffee have an over whelming coconut taste light? I like coconut oil but not sure how I'd like it in my coffee I'm not a fan of flavored coffee either but I will have to try it. and have you tried it with herb tea? I usually put mine into my smoothie every morning.

Maybe she is having some digestive trouble might try some coconut oil with her? My dogs eat it right off my finger and Opie my drake will too.If she won't eat it out of your hand you could try putting some on a small piece of bread and smooching the bread around it and offering it that way.

Can you get a good front and side pic of her?The one that was having a problem yesterday

If Jo and his fav female don't get humbled by putting them in a separate place next I'd try the fav female with out Jo. see how that goes. That is great the rest have accepted her.
