I'm way late on this thread but did you use an antibiotic on the hole and wrap the foot? Blood isnt bad it just means you got all the dead tissue and bleeding a little comes from healthy tissue.

Yes, I did. I slathered triple antibiotic ointment all over & wrapped with a sterilize gauze pad and vetwrap. I love that stuff for bandaging---it even stayed on the end of a duck's peg leg when she lost a foot to frostbite.

I'll try my best not to; I've sure had enough trouble with them to last a good long while. Now I just have to hope the infection clears up and there's no more pus that I missed.
