Bumblefoot?

Pics
I have yet to do this part....I have only been doing the soaking part.( remember that the ducks can't drink the epsom salt water when soaking, it works like a laxative on them)
Here's how I feel by the looks of the pictures....
The 2nd pic for what I can tell looks to be all healthy tissue left, so you are good on that. Just keep soaking applying iodine and wrapping for the 2nd pic.
4th picture is probably going to come out easy after a couple of times soaking, just keep soaking, taking scab off and applying the iodine and wrapping.

Now your 1st and 3rd pictures are way out of my league, I've read enough to be dangerous.....But I do know that I would keep soaking daily, and tweezing out pieces/chunks of the bumble as much as you can, applying iodine and wrapping daily. I really don't know who to tag when it comes to chickens for more help.you might get more help if you post this to the injury forum.

Got any pictures of the ducks feet?

Ok. No not any recent ones but if you go a few pages back theres some pictures, i will take pictures when i get the scabs off

Have you seen this video? I like it because he holds the chicken in a way that keeps them calm and the video seems straight forward.

Best of luck!!
Whoops I just re-read this thread and seen where @DwayneNLiz had already posted the video.

I guess I’ve slept since then!:hmm

I’m curious why I’ve read to soak the feet for several days for about 15 minutes a day, then pick the scab. Could you have them sit long enough on day 1 to get the scab soft enough? I’m sure there is a reason I just haven’t quite figured that part out.

I soaked them for about 45 minutes this moring and the ducks scabs were not ready, i think soaking them and applying the iodine for a few days brings it more to a head? Not sure

So to add to my stress while I'm sitting here soaking them I hear the other ducks freak out so I look over and there is the neighbors German Shepherd at my fence, I'm terrified to let the animals free range now, thats the same dog that killed my chicken April last November and almost jumped the fence and killed my other animals multiple times, I've told them to keep him locked up and they don't care at all :he

Cotton's foot. I got the black scab off the other day, that's a new scab

@Ravynscroft - I'm sure you get tagged a lot and have tons of threads to go through but I'm not exactly sure how to start helping pearltheduck tackle these cases of bumble foot in her ducks. When you get a chance can you give your thoughts on this? It would be greatly appreciated!!

I just soaked and applied iodine and antibiotic ointment again today, scabs still didn't want to come off

Keep soaking and applying iodine daily until you can work the scabs off, yes... some pop right of and infection comes out easy, and some take a lot if time and patience and infection has to be pulled out... make sure to remove all the whitish/yellowish chucnks under the scabs after you remove them... like here on your chicken foot...

Pull all that out with your tweezers... yes, it might be rooted down and be hard, but that needs to come out.... only leave pink, healthy tissue in each hole...
