BYC Café

mORINING! Oops, that's better. See what coffee can cure. I am so glad for the electric zapper. I think the chickens would have been eaten 20 times over were it not for that fence. Yesterday I moved the last chicks out of the house and into the coop. My kitten was sneaking in and hanging out with them, staying warm. He never did anything to them even though he hunts mice now. Don't know

, but I do know to move them on out before he changes his mind even though the older cat doesn't bother them either. I think that is due to the Momma Hen's Fury Fest on anything that would even look at her babies wrong.

So the neighbor got diagnosed with neuropathy. He is not amused to say the least and they have no idea why it came on so suddenly but they are treating him and think that he should recover.
They tested him for all kinds of weird stuff, including anthrax. Really glad that there was no infectious, bacterial, viral, protozoa element to it, cough , cough - still here!

DS4 is heading off to a blue-grass festival. He is camping and working and having fun with his friend and the Mom who runs a children's booth there. He went last year and had a blast, also got to go tubing in the river and he said that the music was awesome.
I hear the chore list calling, have a wonderful day.......

Whoo payday!!! I can put gas in my car and no longer be running off fumes!

And get my mutt in for her annual checkup.

And get some straw for the nesting boxes of the ladies. Since squatting. No eggs yet though

The outside flock is still on starter feed. Should I switch them over to some sort of mixed flock feed or something when eggs start appearing? Since some are further along in their chicken puberty than others...is it safe to introduce oyster shells when some
Are still developing or no?

Sorry for the 20 questions that I could probably be putting elsewhere lol.

I offer free choice grit and egg/oyster shell when they are young and let them make their own choice. as for the starter, I fed it intill they start laying then start the layer feed.
have fun!

Good morning everyone!

x2 on Scott's way.

Mmmm...coffee. Now this is my idea of a coffee mug!

sigh. Hubs is pushing me to get a big girl job. But got all pissy and defensive when I said if I do I'll be wanting to invest in a lower mileage car for commuting...."you have no faith in your car!"

I had the same car but sedan before. It's around now it will start going crazy and all the little things will happen. There's already a bunch of gremlins in it. Doesn't always shift like it should when coming to a stop and likes to freak me out and act like it's going to stall out.

And the fuel pump is coming due. Which gives ZERO warning when it goes. (Well, under 10km of warning...). And he's so busy working on racevo that wagoonvo gets no love. :/

Humm. just flat out don't know about that one. We are kinda mulling the same car issue.
We are getting a nice rain. We needed it! After all that crazy spring rain quit, it got dry fast. Didn't get too many chores done because my neighbor invited me and another person out for breakfast. So we sat around drinking coffee and BSing about bears and firewood and the Tussock Moth which can apparently kill you with its hairs.

And to think that I was whining about bears, pppphhhhhttttt!
Seriously?! I thought Texas had it out for me........

When DD graduated from college and moved 200 miles away, we gave her MY three year old Camry. I loved that car. I got her fifteen year old Malibu. I hated that car...the gas gauge didn't work...the radio didn't work all the time...the air wasn't the greatest. I had it for a year and a half and it was awful. This past December I totaled it. I got a BRAND NEW Camry! However, I wouldn't recommend this method....:/
