Built a new roost this weekend, gearing up to move chickies in with chickens. Not sure why this picture turned out like this but the color is varying shades of turquoise, not blue :rolleyes:View attachment 1991450Realized after it was all done that the bottom board has a knot, so I'll have to brace it. Put hinges on the back and a chain in the middle of the bottom board for cleaning purposes.
The Chickens will love it!

I've never even heard of such a thing. I've never had any breed of dog that didn't want to run off leash let alone walk in huge fields and wooded paths. She's going to take a lot of work, that's for sure.

My gut says that the majority of her life has been spent either in the brood box or locked in a crate. So sad.

I like the color Meg, that will be nice for your flock!
Meg love the ladder might put one in the silkie coop less room in there
Thanks, Ladies! The ladders are better with limited room, I think. There is plenty of room in this one, but I've got two roosts in there that are same level and I don't care for them. I'm going to take those and build a 2x4 ladder instead. The wood I used on this was scrap crate wood I got from work. But they use planed 1x6 which is nice wood! Not real straight, but that's hard to find even at the lumber yard :p

I hear you on the wood at the lumber yards! I hate going with DH when he wants straight wood...that's a long intensive search

Your chickens won't mind if the boards are 100% straight!
