BYC Café

Good morning, Cafe, and happy weekend! Still warm and dry around here with red flag warnings. We are to get WIND tomorrow and a slight chance of some rain and then more dry for the foreseeable future. I have almost all of the firewood delivered and I may take another order, maybe. I also may just go cut firewood for us, aspen, which burns hot and cleans out the chimney.
Thanks for the coffee!

Good morning, Cafe. 53°, windy and smelling a lot like smoke. Hopefully, the wind is working it out not in.

That's too bad about your nephew, Tonya. Some people will never get it and at his age, with enablers, he's likely not going to. Easy to blame your parents, takes work to better your life.

She certainly does, Sour :highfive:

Off to the bird yard to pick up the apples the crazy wind knocked down yesterday!

Happy Saturday to all.

I regularly put my boot up his butt.
His parents treated him like dirt. Kicked out on his ear when he was just shy of 19. My mom and dad said they'd take him in so my sister and BIL went down to SC and brought him back. Everyone except me and DH felt sorry for him and coddled him. I don't do that. I see a problem that needs fixing. The kid couldn't drive, can't behave normally in social settings and has ZERO motivation.

I tried to help by teaching him life skills. I was no fun. My sister let him watch movies and play games all the time. So that is where he wanted to go. Long story short, he's no different now than he was then, 11 years later.

Coming up on 30 years old and works no more than 20 hours a week at a Dollar General, mooching off my mother and moves his girl friend up from SC and now my mother is supporting her too.

How is any of this right?? So maybe this explains my reaction to him saying "No" to me when I asked for some help working on the house HE his living in...
Sounds fair to me
